Ready to grow from hurt…to healed…to whole?

TRAUMA THERAPY
“When I started hearing the word “trauma” I got scared because I KNEW there was stuff from my past I hadn’t dealt with. You helped me feel safe enough—and strong enough—to finally look inside a little deeper, and it’s made a big difference.”
When you experience things that are overwhelming or “too much”, it can leave a deep impact. And, left unhealed, trauma effects:
How you think
How you feel
What you do
What you avoid or don’t do
What you lean into
What you run away from
What you speak about openly
Or what you hold inside, for fear of what may come up
You may not be able to put it into words.
You may not remember all of the details.
But your body knows. It remembers.
Consider the following: Trauma is the body’s normal response to abnormal (or overwhelming) experiences.
Trauma is real…and real in its consequences
People (and groups) that have experienced trauma often place the perceived “problem” or “defect” within themselves. Because of this, they often think:
There’s something wrong with me or us.
Maybe I/we “deserved” it.
If I/we would just ___________________, then things would be better.
I/we need to just “get over it”.
Everyone goes through difficulties, so I/we need to stop complaining.
Just look at other people/groups, you don’t see them ______________________.
These thoughts—while understandable—often obscure a more fundamental truth…
You are not broken. You are not defective. And yes, something happened.
Pause for a moment and let the truth of that resonate.
And as you take a moment to breathe, please know this: You don’t have to walk the path alone.
We offer a supportive and confidential environment where you can safely explore what’s behind the weight you’ve been carrying.
Unprocessed trauma can steal a lifetime’s worth of joy from people, families, or entire communities.
what is trauma?
Stated plainly, trauma simply means that something overwhelming happened and, as a result, part(s) of your life energy got temporarily “stuck”.
When we—or the communities we belong to—experience things that we can’t fully process or “deal with” in the moment, the intensity of that energy doesn’t go away. It gets “stuck” in the body, and can show up as:
Racing thoughts that you can’t stop
Negative beliefs about yourself
Feelings and emotions that appear out of balance with the situations you’re facing
Unexplained tensions or dis-ease in the body (e.g., headaches, back aches, digestive problems)
An intuitive, instinctive or “gut” sense of not feeling safe or OK
Unexplained urges to fight, run away, or be “overly friendly” & compliant in certain situations
Flashbacks (e.g., words, images, or “scenes”) that cause you disturbance or distress
Individual (or collective) “vibes” or “notions” around what you experience as safe vs. threatening
Let’s face it: Even the thought of navigating trauma can sometimes feel overwhelming.
…but it doesn’t have to be.
What was broken can be made whole again.
And what was hurt can be healed.
our wisdom is concealed when our wounds aren’t healed
When it comes to trauma—and trauma healing—you may have heard the sayings below. What’s amazing is that all of them can be true at the same time.
Hurt people…hurt people
Healed people…heal people
Transformed people…transform people
If you are reading these words, allow yourself to consider the following:
Your time to heal is now.
Your time to transform is now.
Your past does not define your future…and your trauma is not your destiny.
