What is Brainspotting?
Brainspotting is an advanced brain-body therapy and a powerful way to heal trauma, reduce mental-emotional distress and even help expand or “unlock” the best version of yourself.
At the core, it works by tapping into your brain’s natural capacity to work through—and internally resolve—old “stuff” that’s caused you to feel “stuck” in various areas of your life, including:

Limiting beliefs you logically “know” aren’t true, but that still “show up” and cause problems
What exactly is a “Brainspot”?
Ever caught yourself staring off into the distance and end up:

Unconsciously recounting and replaying old events?
If so, then you have already “done” Brainspotting.
Simply put, a “brainspot” is a relevant eye position that’s linked to specific events, memories or experiences in your life.
When you find a “brainspot” and allow yourself to access it—using a technique called Focused Mindfulness—both your brain and your body begin to:
Access the “file” in your brain where the event, memory or experience is located
Work together to safely “unpack” or clear out whatever is inside the “file”
Resolve the issue at its core, releasing any previously “stuck” energy and helping to re-integrate it into your body’s system
And what’s even better?
You are in complete control of how “deep” you go while your brain & body are processing, meaning:
If you want to talk about the issue or verbally share what’s happening in-the-moment? Great!

Brainspotting is a very open, inclusive and flexible approach to healing. As such, Brainspotting can be used to help almost anyone, regardless of your background, social identity, trauma history, specific challenges/difficulties, or the unique details of your “story”.
And to be very candid and clear: You don’t have to identify as Black/African-American to be one of our valued—and successful—Brainspotting clients.
