An unshakeable peace lives deep within you…

We help you reclaim your peace, rediscover your power & reconnect to your wholeness.

how did covid-19 affect your practice?

Due to client preference—and to maximize convenience (i.e., no fighting traffic to get to your therapist’s office)—all counseling, therapy & wellness coaching services are being conducted via virtual sessions until further notice.

who do you work with?

We work with adults who are engaged in—or ready to begin—doing “inner work” (e.g., self-development or personal mastery work around healing, wholeness, integration, empowerment and living a life of true peace, joy & fulfillment).

Although we see a wide array of clients, we specialize in serving both established and emerging working professionals, including career climbers, entrepreneurs, leaders and creatives.

Our practice focuses on individual (1:1) counseling, coaching, therapy and wellness services. As such, we do not provide couples therapy, pre-marital/martial counseling, or adolescent/teen services at this time.

what is counseling/therapy?

Counseling, also known as therapy, is a collaborative process between you and a trained helping professional to support you knowing and understanding yourself better.

Through counseling, clients often report becoming more aware of previously unrecognized:

  • Patterns

  • Behaviors

  • Values

  • Root causes

  • Beliefs

  • Feelings

  • Ways of thinking and being

  • Barriers to meaningful change

In short, counseling provides a safe, confidential & supportive environment that supports your individual healing, growth and empowerment.

what should i expect from my first session?

Your first session is basically a low-stress “getting to know more about you” experience. During your first session (i.e., intake), your therapist will ask questions to find out more about what’s going on in your life that may impact therapy and how you will work together.

It also gives you a chance to ask questions freely, and helps your therapist create a treatment plan customized for your goals and needs.

During the first session, your therapist may ask you:

  • What brought you to therapy?

  • What in your life is working well?

  • What in your life needs healing, attention, resources, or support?

  • Questions about your history (e.g., childhood, education, relationships, family dynamics, current living situation, work/career, etc.)

Future visits are directly therapeutic in nature. For example, in your second session you may explore a specific symptom, problem, issue or challenge area that was mentioned in the first session.

You and your therapist may also discuss the length of your treatment, therapeutic approaches, and the ins and outs of patient confidentiality.

IS COUNSELING CONFIDENTIAL?

Yes! Confidentiality is one of the primary reasons clients choose to pursue counseling.

Why?

Simply put: Clients enjoy the psychological safety (and peace of mind) of being able to share freely about what’s going on with a trained professional that 1) is an expert at helping others and 2) will not (and cannot) share their information with anyone else.

The information shared is strictly confidential and will not be disclosed without your consent. By law, confidentiality is guaranteed except in the following cases:

  • Life-threatening situations involving immediate danger to yourself or others

  • Situations where a client is endangering individuals within a vulnerable population (e.g., abuse/neglect involving children, the elderly, or disabled persons)

  • The therapist is ordered by a judge to disclose information

  • The client signs a “Release of Information” form giving permission to include others in their treatment (e.g., family members, other healthcare providers)

keep it real. does your practice only SERVE black clients?

Absolutely not.

While we specialize in providing counseling, therapy & wellness services for people who identify as Black, African, Afro-Caribbean, Afro-Latin, Biracial/Multiracial and/or African-American, we welcome, honor—and deeply enjoy serving—ALL clients.

Further, we have clients with a wide and diverse array of backgrounds, experiences & identities (e.g., inclusive of race, culture, ethnicity, gender, age, class/socioeconomic background, sexual orientation, faith, religio-spiritual identity, national origin, unique upbringings, thinking/communication style, career/profession, etc.).

Simply put, we are privileged to serve the entire human family.

who is not a good fit for your practice?

Although many people can benefit from counseling, therapy or wellness coaching, you may not be a good fit for our practice if you are:

  • Only looking for a quick, easy fix without doing the work

  • Unwilling to invest in your yourself and your healing, wholeness and/or inner transformation

  • Experiencing a life threatening emergency that goes beyond what individual/1:1 services can fully address

How soon can i start?

Right now! Your next step is to get started by scheduling a no-cost phone consultation.

Phone consults are brief (e.g., 15 minutes) and provide a commitment-free way to:

  • Share briefly about what's going on

  • Connect directly with a therapist or wellness coach and see if there’s a good fit

  • Decide if you want to move forward with scheduling your first appointment

Note: Due to high demand, we recommend new clients reach out sooner (rather than later) to avoid scheduling slowdowns or waiting delays between now and their first session.
